My name is Kathy Salanitro.  I have been involved with animals since I was ten years old.  When I was young, I rode horses and worked at a farm that raised sheep and pigs.  Those experiences led me to take courses in the care of throughbred horses.  As an adult, I combined an active lifestyle of being an EMT, working on ski patrol at our local ski resort,and Ambulance service.  Volunteering for the American Red Cross,Treasurer for the Lakes Region EMS and at our parish as a teacher, while continuing to ride horses.   Our son introduced us to working with steer through his work at a local dairy farm.  We purchased two bull calves and trained them as working steer.  I developed my knowledge of cattle through working with our animals (we added six more oxen to our barn over the years) and by taking classes on various aspects of animal nutrition, pasture management, and intensive grazing programs.  I worked with our local 4-H Club and ran school programs based on cattle as well.  Currently my husband and I own oxen and show them at twenty fairs each year.  We have even established a working steer event at the Belknap County 4-H Fair and Sandwich Fair in NH, which is still active today.        During my many years of working with animals, I have experienced how frustrating it can be when animals escape from fenced in enclosures.  Since our family keeps oxen, we were especially concerned about keeping our 3,000 pound, six foot tall animals confined in a safe manner.  Our animals are trained to pull and could easily plow through most conventional fencing.  Then I found Gallagher Electric Fencing systems from New Zealand.  I have personally used Gallagher products on my own operation since 1987 and have never had an animal try to get out in all that time.  I still have the same fence standing and it looks like it did the day I put it up.    I have worked as a dealer since 1988.  We maintain an extensive inventory of product and can help you design the best, most effective fence for your situation.  If you require something we do not have in stock, it can be ordered and available within a few days.  We are trained to perform most energizer repairs at our location, thus saving you time, money, and the inconvenience of having to rely on a distant service location.  Our regular business hours are: Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M., Saturdays 8:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M.  You may contact us at:                                                    Kathy Salanitro                                                    Ox-K Farm                                                    593 Belknap Mountain Road                                                    Gilford, NH 03249                                                    (603) 528-3465                                                    (603) 528-0834 (Fax)                                                    oxk@metrocast.net You can also look at our fun web site about our oxen  www.metrocast.net/~oxk
